About Mengo Children’s Foundation

Mengo Children’s Foundation (MCF) is a Ugandan non-governmental organization committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children, young people, women and families in underserved communities.Mengo Children’s Foundation was established in response to the challenges faced by orphans, abandoned children, vulnerable families and young people living in difficult circumstances.

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, stay healthy, discover their talents and build a brighter future.

Through education, healthcare, sports, skills development, child empowerment and community-based initiatives, we work alongside families, communities, volunteers, donors and partners to create lasting opportunities for vulnerable people.

Our Approach

We believe lasting change happens when children and communities are given more than short-term assistance. We create opportunities for people to develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and support they need to become more independent and resilient.

WHAT WE DO

Education & Child Sponsorship

We support vulnerable children to access education and remain in school through school-fee sponsorship, scholastic materials and educational support. Our goal is to remove barriers that prevent children from learning and to give them the opportunity to discover their potential.

Healthcare & Wellbeing

We recognize that healthy children are better able to learn, grow and participate in their communities. MCF supports access to basic healthcare and promotes the wellbeing of children and vulnerable families.

Sports & Football

Through football and other sports activities, we create safe spaces where children and young people can play, learn and develop. Our sports programs encourage teamwork, discipline, confidence, resilience and positive relationships.

Talent & Creativity Development

Every child has unique abilities and potential. We provide opportunities for children to explore creativity, discover their talents and develop skills through activities that encourage imagination, confidence and self-expression.

Skills Development & Vocational Empowerment

We equip vulnerable young people and children with practical skills that can help them become more confident and economically independent. Our activities have included areas such as baking, tailoring, craft-making and entrepreneurship.

Community Empowerment

Our work extends beyond individual children. We work with communities to create opportunities, strengthen resilience and address challenges affecting vulnerable families.

Turning Opportunities Into Change For more than two decades, Mengo Children’s Foundation has worked to create opportunities for vulnerable children, young people and communities in Uganda.

Supporting Children's Education Since 2012, Mengo Children’s Foundation has facilitated education for more than 200 children through school-fee sponsorships and scholastic support.
